  • 2 Cups of Plain Flour

  • 1/2 Cup of Salt

  • 2 tbsp of Cream of Tartar

  • Food Colouring

  • 2 tbsp of Vegetable Oil

  • 1 - 1 1/2 Cups of Boiling Water

  • Glitter (optional)

  • Essential Oils (optional)

Mix the flour, salt and cream of tartar in a bowl (add your glitter here if using). Add food colouring TO THE BOILING WATER and mix, then add this a cup full at a time to the dry mixture (add your essential oils here if using). Stir continuously until it all comes together. Then tip it out onto a work surface and knead until smooth. It will, at first look like a disaster but keep kneading, it will become lovely in the end! Promise! Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 6 months.

Why it's good

Playdough is hours of fun, throw in some cookie cutters and you have your own little world. It keeps little hands and mind occupied and is super sensory so very calming. It's also great for fine motor skill development too.
