Place the dinosaur/unicorn or whatever animal you are using into the balloon. Fill the balloon with water and tie a knot in it, then place in the freezer for 24 hours. You can have a couple in there all the time to use as and when you like. To use remove the balloon once the water has frozen and discard. Place the 'eggs' into a tray or outside and let the kids smash 'em to pieces. Encourage them to build a nest or lovely habitat for the animals to live in once they hatch.

Why It's Good

It encourages problem solving and caring/nurturing. It's very easy to clean up as the ice just melts away, and it takes a while to smash the toy out!
