Before we begin...

Cooking for the masses can be daunting but don't panic! Honestly, it's going to be ok! Here's a few top tips for surmounting the task...

1. Cook Big - if you're going to cook, level up and make more than you think you'll need. This helps with unexpected guests and can be portioned up for the freezer for another time.

2. Have some foil trays/plastic tubs you don't mind never seeing again. Pop any left overs in these and either freeze them for unexpected guests or give it away for people to take home.

3. If someone has a food intolerance then just make one dish that covers that and make everyone eat it. This way there's no panic over whether you've used the gluten spoon in the gluten free pot etc etc.

4. Most intolerances can be catered for by substituting the offending ingredient with its free from counter part. Free from products are really good now so there's no mixing of various ingredients you've never heard of like some kind of chemistry professor - just buy the gluten free flour or dairy free butter and whack that in instead of your usual. All the recipes here are written for gluten free/dairy free/vegetarians but they don't have to be. Just swap these for usual versions of what's listed, just don't then feed it to someone who is gluten/dairy/veg free.

5. If in doubt, jacket potatoes cover everyone, everywhere, anytime. 10 mins in the microwave or slow cooked in the oven, no one is allergic to them and it's basically a giant chip so fussy eaters are also covered.
